Horizon Europe - Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships 2021

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) will continue providing opportunities for researchers and organizations under Horizon Europe. Fellowships will be offered to excellent researchers, undertaking international mobility either to or between the EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries, as well as to associated Third Countries. Details about the scheme are available in the presentation held by the European Commission and https://ec.europa.eu/research/mariecurieactions/actions/postdoctoral-fel... call documents will be available on EU Portal once the call will be officially opened. The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2021 will open on 22 June 2021 with a deadline of 12 October 2021.

OSGA holds an annual internal competition to decide which application(s) will be put forward under the scheme. Those who are interested to apply for this scheme should note that following the OSGA internal application procedure that has been updated in light of the new timeline and will be confirmed once the Horizon Europe Work Programme will be published:

  • From 23rd June 2021 to 28th July 2021 (extended)  please send your CV and the Expression of Interest Form to research@area.ox.ac.uk. Please indicate in the subject line your name and "MSCA PD 2021".The OSGA Research Committee will short-list candidates based on their expression of interest and CV.  Priority will be given to proposals that could foster collaborative cross-regional and cross-country interdisciplinary projects.
  • All applicants that expressed their interest will be informed of the outcome.  Only the successfully shortlisted candidates will be invited to submit the first draft proposal (pdf of the full application, further details will be provided) by the end of August 2021. The draft proposals will be expected by 6 September and reviewed by the OSGA Research Committee.
  • By the 20th September 2021, the selected candidates will need to send their final version of the full application to   research@area.ox.ac.uk and confirm that they have completed all the sections on the EU Portal, but they DO NOT need to submit it until that will have received confirmation the official institutional approval from the University of Oxford Research Services.

Call for Applicants for MSCA IF 2020

The European Commission has now opened the 2020 Call for Proposals for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowships. The goal of the Individual Fellowships is to enhance the creative and innovative potential of experienced researchers, wishing to diversify individual competence in terms of skill acquisition through advanced training, international and intersectoral mobility.

The Oxford School of Global and Area Studies will select and support excellent experienced researchers of any nationality and age, which comply with MSCA mobility rules.

Those who are interested to apply for this scheme should note the following OSGA internal application procedure:

By  24th June (deadline extended on 10th  June 2020), please send to research@area.ox.ac.uk (indicating in the subject line your name and "MSCA IF 2020")

  • a personal statement, where they specify the type of action, their eligibility to the action in the light of call rules, the name of a potential supervisor in the School; the name of organisation hosting the secondment and/or the out-going phase (where relevant), project duration.
  • an abstract of your proposal (max. 2,000 characters, with spaces) to clearly explain: the objectives of the proposal, how they will be achieved and their relevance to the Work Programme;
  • a copy of your CV prepared according to the Marie-Curie Individual Fellowship guidelines (Part B-2 page 42, Guide for Applicant).
  • the first draft of your proposal (that should consist of Part B1 of the standard proposal template),  

By the end of June 2020, the candidates will be informed of the outcome. 

By  10th July 2020, the shortlisted candidates for the OSGA’s support need to send  to research@area.ox.ac.uk  their complete proposals, including Part A, B and B1 (please, send pdf file). 

By 20th August 2020 complete your complete application  on the EC portal but do not submit via the online system.  Because of the formal institutional approval is required both from the Head of School and from an administrative officer on behalf of the host institution, OSGA will formally approve the applications and submit them to the University’s Research Services Office for the approval. The University Research Services will inform the candidates when the application is approved and the application can then be submitted via the EU Portal.

By 30th May 2019, send us your expression of interest that should consist of the following: a personal statement, that specify proposal title; the type of action (MSCA-IF-EF-ST, MSCA-IF-EF-CAR, MSCA-IF-EF-RI, MSCA-IF-EF-SE, MSCA-IF-GF); the name of a potential supervisors in the School; name of organisation hosting the secondment and/or the out-going phase (where relevant),project duration; an abstract of your proposal (max. 2,000 characters, with spaces) to clearly explain: the objectives of the proposal, how they will be achieved and their relevance to the Work Programme; a copy of your CV prepared according Marie-Curie Individual Fellowship guidelines (Part B-2 Section 4 page 41, Guide for Applicant);
  2. By 10th June 2019, send us the first draft of your proposal that should consist of Part B1 and B2-CV of the standard proposal template.

The proposals selected for the OSGA’s support must be completed for the OSGA Research Commitee review by 6th July 2019. The complete proposal, including Part A, B and B1, should be send as pdf files to research@area.ox.ac.ukThen the OSGA internal deadline to complete on the EC portal the final draft of your complete application will be 27th August 2019.
