Methods

The Cluster focuses on methods and ethics in Area Studies research. The cluster’s members  conduct their research using a variety of methodological and epistemological approaches involving both qualitative and quantitative methods. The cluster offers opportunities of understanding of Area Studies research and development of comparative and mixed-methods projects. It aims to open up conversations with non-academic professionals and organisations on specific methods and on  unique challenges when conducting research, including collecting data remotely, in conflict zones or authoritarian states.
