In her recent publication, alumna Leandra Bias, investigated the role of NGOisation as a much-overlooked structural factor with regards to generational conflicts within NGOs. It is generally assumed that it benefits the older generation, who are present during the founding years and subsequently occupy the more influential and stable positions within a civil society organisation. In times of increasing authoritarianism, which often accuses said NGOisation, a critical analysis is therefore more than needed. Based on the example of feminist NGOs in Serbia, she formulated the key finding that NGOisation can indeed contribute to generational divides, but is rarely perceived by the younger generation as the main culprit.
